How to use Character Reference

Character Reference

Create consistent and personalized characters by using the Character Reference feature in Dream Machine. This tool allows you to upload an image as a reference for character consistency.

Character Reference enables you to:

  • Upload an image of your face or someone else’s to ensure character consistency across different settings.

Upload reference image

  • For character consistency, upload a clear photo of the face you want to use by tapping the Photos icon.

  • Select Reference from the dropdown menu on the right hand side of the prompt box.

  • From here, type "@character" and then proceed to write out in natural language the prompt you so choose.

Enter prompt

Describe the character in the setting, scenario, or theme you’d like to see in natural language. For example: "Place this character in a futuristic cityscape with glowing lights." Be sure to end or begin your prompt with @character.

Review and refine

If needed, use the Modify feature to make adjustments, ensuring your results meet your expectations.

Use cases for Character Reference

Character Reference ensures your visuals maintain character consistency and style alignment, making it perfect for personalized projects or matching specific aesthetics.
